Overview

The ELOWE Lab at Université Laval is seeking a motivated PhD candidate to study the function of ZNF768, a fast-evolving zinc-finger transcription factor. This research aims to elucidate how ZNF768 regulates cell cycle progression, maintains genome stability, and contributes to lung adenocarcinoma development. The successful applicant will employ advanced techniques including high-resolution live-cell imaging, mutagenesis, and bioinformatics. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic oncology research environment at the CR-CHU de Québec.

What you'll do

  • Investigate the impact of ZNF768 loss on G0 exit and cell cycle progression.
  • Analyze the mechanisms by which ZNF768 overexpression promotes uncontrolled cell proliferation.
  • Define the functional role of ZNF768 in the progression of lung adenocarcinoma.
  • Perform high-resolution and live-cell imaging experiments.
  • Conduct mutagenesis studies to explore protein function.
  • Apply bioinformatics tools to analyze transcriptional data.
  • Communicate research findings effectively in both French and English.
