PhD Position in Dispersion-Engineered Impedance Surfaces
Investigate advanced dispersion engineering for high-gain antenna architectures and spatial feeds.
Best for:Best for graduate students in electrical engineering with a strong background in electromagnetics and antenna design.
Overview
This PhD position offers a funded research opportunity focusing on dispersion engineering to control electromagnetic wave propagation in two-dimensional artificial structures. Based at the Laboratoire Antennes, Propagation, Couplage Inductif (LETI) in association with Université de Rennes 1 and CEA, the project aims to develop analytical formulations, numerical tools, and advanced antenna architectures such as transmitarrays and reflectarrays. The successful candidate will investigate periodic unit cells, true-time delay principles, and novel fabrication methods to overcome conventional narrowband limitations. The candidate is expected to publish research findings, design innovative hardware prototypes, and contribute to scientific advancements in high-gain antennas.
