PhD in Synergistic Mathematical Modeling and Quantitative Image Analysis of Cell Migration
Explore the intersection of developmental biology, AI-driven imaging, and mathematical modeling to study olfactory organ formation.
Best for:Best for candidates with a strong background in biological sciences, quantitative methods, and an interest in interdisciplinary research combining computational modeling and imaging techniques.
Overview
This PhD position at the Centre for Integrative Biology (CBI) in Toulouse, France, focuses on integrating mathematical modeling and quantitative image analysis to elucidate cell migration and cytoskeletal dynamics during olfactory organ development. As part of the Horizon Europe COFUND BEST Doctoral Programme, the successful candidate will collaborate internationally with researchers in France and Switzerland, including Dr. Julie Batut (CNRS, Toulouse), Prof. Virginie Uhlmann (University of Zurich), and Dr. Daniel Sage (EPFL, Lausanne). The project includes two mandatory research placements at EPFL in Lausanne, offering interdisciplinary training in developmental biology, AI-guided imaging, and mathematical modeling. The work will leverage cutting-edge facilities and foster cross-border academic exchange.
What you'll do
