PhD Position in Bioinspired Folded Pseudorotaxanes for Polymer Networks
Develop ultra-stable supramolecular crosslinks to engineer robust, high-performance polymer networks.
Best for:Best for synthetic organic chemists with a strong background in supramolecular chemistry and polymer science.
Overview
This doctoral position at Centrale Lille Institut focuses on the engineering and study of bioinspired folded pseudorotaxane crosslinks (BFPC) with high kinetic stability. The project aims to create novel supramolecular polymer networks capable of withstanding significant mechanical loads and demonstrating efficient recovery properties. The successful candidate will conduct advanced synthetic chemistry and polymer characterization within the Materials and Transformation Unit. The expected outcome is to overcome key current limitations in supramolecular polymer networks through innovative molecular design.
What you'll do
- Synthesize and characterize novel bioinspired folded pseudorotaxane crosslinks (BFPCs) with high kinetic stability.
- Fabricate and test advanced supramolecular polymer networks incorporating the new crosslinks.
- Evaluate mechanical properties including compressive strength and recovery efficiency under high loads.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare scientific reports, publications, and presentations.
- Collaborate with research team members within the Materials and Transformation Unit.
