The Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA) is inviting applications for several faculty positions at the Associate Professor level. Accomplished scholars across all areas of mathematics, theoretical physics, computer science, and related applications are encouraged to apply. Appointed professors will be expected to teach one course per semester in English, engage in academic service, and mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. What you'll do
- Conduct high-level independent research in mathematics, theoretical physics, computer science, or related fields
- Teach one course per semester conducted in English
- Participate in departmental and institutional academic service
- Mentor and supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers
- Secure and manage external research grants to support ongoing investigations
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline
Language: English proficiency for teaching and research; fluency in English required
Instruction: English
Publications: A strong portfolio of peer-reviewed publications commensurate with an Associate Professor rank
- Established publication record in recognized international venues
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent and impactful research
- Experience teaching university-level courses in English
- Track record or clear potential for mentoring junior researchers and students
- Accomplished scholars holding a PhD and appropriate postdoctoral or faculty experience
