Overview

This PhD position offers an opportunity to investigate the functional role of a microprotein at the intersection of metabolism, interorgan communication, and organismal physiology. The project is jointly supervised by researchers at the Centre for Integrative Biology (CBI) in Toulouse, France, and the Centre for Organismal Studies (COS) in Heidelberg, Germany. The successful candidate will conduct research spanning molecular biology, Drosophila genetics, and organismal physiology, leveraging cutting-edge facilities in both locations. The program is part of the Horizon Europe COFUND BEST Doctoral Programme, providing a multidisciplinary environment to advance fundamental biological insights with societal relevance. Applicants should be passionate about integrative biology and eager to contribute to collaborative, cross-border research.
