PhD Studentship: Extracellular Matrix Alterations in Haemorrhagic Stroke and Cognitive Decline
Investigate the role of the extracellular matrix in intracerebral haemorrhage pathophysiology and cognitive recovery.
Best for:Best for neuroscience graduates with experience in rodent handling and a strong interest in neurovascular research.
Overview
This 3-year PhD project, hosted by the Lille Neuroscience & Cognition laboratory, explores the impact of extracellular matrix (ECM) alterations following intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH). The research aims to understand how ECM changes contribute to haematoma clearance, tissue repair, and subsequent cognitive decline. The successful candidate will utilize a combination of preclinical mouse models, translational research, and human brain sample analysis. The project is supervised by Virginie Mattot and Vincent Berezowski and seeks to identify new therapeutic strategies for stroke survivors.
