Postdoctoral position in Tumor Dynamics and Mechanobiology
Investigate how mechanical forces and transcriptomics drive colorectal cancer progression using organoid models.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with a strong background in quantitative biology, bioinformatics, or image analysis interested in cancer mechanobiology.
Overview
The Tumor Dynamics and Plasticity group at Institut Gustave Roussy is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study the mechanical evolution of colorectal cancer. Funded by an ERC Starting Grant, the multidisciplinary project bridges tissue mechanics and transcriptomics to explore how physical signals guide cancer cell plasticity. The successful candidate will develop analytical pipelines combining organoid force measurements with spatial and single-cell omics approaches. Applicants will work within Europe's largest cancer hospital, collaborating closely with clinicians, biologists, and physicists.
What you'll do
- Develop computational pipelines combining organoid force measurements with spatial omics data.
- Perform advanced image analysis including cell segmentation, tracking, and morphometry analysis.
- Analyze spatial transcriptomics and single-cell sequencing datasets to uncover mechanisms of cancer cell plasticity.
- Design and execute multidisciplinary research bridging tissue mechanics and cancer transcriptomics.
- Collaborate with team members across biological and physical sciences within a clinical research environment.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Quantitative Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
Language: English proficiency for professional research and communication
Instruction: English
- Experience in quantitative biology or bioinformatic analysis
- Proficiency in image analysis such as cell segmentation, tracking, or morphometry
- Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics data analysis
