Master's Research Internship in Immuno-Oncology
Join a six-month research internship studying tumor immune evasion and actin remodeling at the Luxembourg Institute of Health.
Best for:Best for second-year Master's students in biology or immunology with practical laboratory experience in cell culture and cancer models.
Overview
The Luxembourg Institute of Health offers a six-month full-time research internship within the Cytoskeleton and Cancer Progression research group, led by Dr. Clément Thomas. The project focuses on investigating how actin cytoskeleton remodeling in tumor cells contributes to resistance against immune attacks at the immunological synapse. The selected student will participate in ongoing investigations using high-resolution live-cell imaging and quantitative microscopy. Candidates are expected to be currently enrolled in an eligible Master's program where the internship serves as a mandatory academic requirement.
What you'll do
- Perform cell culture and execute tumor cell and immune cell co-culture experiments.
- Utilize advanced cell biology techniques, including microscopy and flow cytometry.
- Contribute directly to ongoing experimental projects investigating tumor immune evasion.
- Analyze and record quantitative microscopy and live-cell imaging data.
- Engage with the research group's published literature to align experimental tasks with overarching laboratory goals.
Requirements
Degree required: Enrolled in a Master's programme (M2) in biology, immunology, oncology, or a closely related discipline
Language: English proficiency suitable for working in an international research environment
Instruction: English
- Enrollment in an M2 Master's programme where the internship is a mandatory degree requirement
