Overview
10x Genomics is seeking a Field Application Scientist to serve as a primary technical partner for customers in Japan. The role involves delivering on-site training, providing experimental design guidance, and troubleshooting complex technical issues related to genomics workflows. You will act as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, including Technical Support, Marketing, and Product Development. The position requires a strong background in molecular biology and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding technical inquiries and product usage.
- Coordinate and conduct on-site training sessions and product demonstrations for users.
- Troubleshoot issues related to experimental design, biochemistry, software, and instrumentation.
- Gather and communicate strategic customer feedback to internal Marketing and Product Development teams.
- Support the field sales team at trade shows, seminars, and technical symposiums.
- Contribute to the creation of white papers and technical documentation to expand support resources.
- Identify and document customer complaints or concerns for management review.
Requirements
Degree required: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics
Language: Fluent Japanese (written and verbal).
Instruction: Japanese
- Extensive experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, or genetics.
- Demonstrable knowledge of NGS workflows and associated data analysis software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills.
- Fluent written and verbal Japanese language skills.
- Outstanding presentation and training capabilities.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Must be eligible to work in Japan.
