Post-Doctoral Associate/Associate Research Scientist in Biological Physics
Join NYU Abu Dhabi’s Shubeita Lab to investigate cellular organization through active transport, cytoskeletal dynamics, and macromolecular crowding.
Best for:Best for post-doctoral researchers with a PhD in physics or biological physics, keen on experimental soft matter and biological physics, and interested in interdisciplinary cellular mechanics research.
Overview
This post-doctoral position at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) offers the opportunity to work within the Shubeita Lab, focusing on unravelling the physical principles governing cellular organization. The successful candidate will lead research projects exploring the interplay between active cytoskeletal transport, cytoskeletal organization, and macromolecular crowding. The multidisciplinary environment fosters collaboration with post-doctoral and pre-doctoral researchers trained in physics, biology, and chemistry. The role is ideal for those with a PhD in physics or biological physics, strong analytical skills, and a passion for experimental techniques like optical tweezers and quantitative imaging.
What you'll do
- Lead independent research projects focused on the interplay between active cytoskeletal transport, cytoskeletal organization, and macromolecular crowding.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of post-doctoral and pre-doctoral researchers trained in physics, biology, and chemistry.
- Conduct experiments using advanced techniques such as optical tweezers and quantitative imaging.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to derive insights into cellular organization principles.
- Present research findings at internal and external conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Contribute to the development of innovative research methodologies and experimental protocols.
