Overview
The Master of Arts HES-SO in Cinema is a collaborative programme jointly offered by ECAL and HEAD – Genève, in partnership with La Manufacture and the Swiss Cinema Network. Designed for aspiring filmmakers working behind or in front of the camera, the curriculum encourages the development of a personal cinematic practice, unique narrative forms, and a cohesive visual language. Spanning 120 ECTS credits, the programme provides an immersive educational environment across campuses in Geneva and Lausanne. Students benefit from an extensive network of academic and professional resources across Switzerland and internationally.
What you'll do
- Engage in rigorous coursework and collaborative projects across partner institutions in Geneva and Lausanne
- Develop a personal cinematic practice and distinct visual language
- Create original cinematic works either in front of or behind the camera
- Participate in interdisciplinary workshops and networking events with the Swiss Cinema Network
- Complete a 120-ECTS curriculum culminating in a final master's project
Requirements
Degree required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant art, design, or cinema discipline

Language: English, French, German; multilingual proficiency as required by the curriculum and partner institutions
