Data Science of Human Multimodal Communication (MA)
An Erasmus Mundus joint Master's programme exploring the intersection of language, cognition, and multimodal data science.
Best for:Best for students with a strong background in language or cognitive sciences who wish to acquire advanced data science and computational skills.
Overview
The MULTICOM programme is a unique Erasmus Mundus joint Master's degree that bridges the gap between humanities, multimodality, and data science. Students explore how language and thought connect with communicative behaviors such as gesture, gaze, facial expression, and speech. The curriculum provides intensive training in statistical and computational techniques, including large language models, body pose detection, and eye tracking. This four-semester programme is co-awarded by the University of Murcia, Lund University, and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Graduates are prepared for both academic and industry careers as multimodal data scientists.
