This postdoctoral position at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIR) at NYU Abu Dhabi focuses on developing secure AI systems, robotics, and computer vision. The successful candidate will contribute to algorithm design, prototype implementation, and experimental testing, particularly in adversarial machine learning, anomaly detection, and autonomous robotics. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, including machine learning, embedded systems, and controls, with a strong emphasis on security and real-world deployment. Applicants should have a PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with less than five years of postdoctoral experience.
What you'll do
- Design and implement algorithms for secure AI, robotics, and computer vision projects.
- Develop and test prototypes using MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Deploy algorithms on onboard computational hardware for unmanned vehicle swarms.
- Conduct experimental testing to evaluate performance and security of AI-driven robotic systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including postdoctoral associates, PhD students, and faculty.
- Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals within the field.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Language: English; proficiency required for collaboration and publication
Instruction: English
Publications: Strong publication record in adversarial machine learning, neural network security, or related fields
- Proven expertise in adversarial machine learning or neural network security
- Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, C, and C++
- Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) and embedded systems
- Background in computer vision or robotics controls
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience
- PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience after PhD completion
- No specific nationality restrictions, but Emirati candidates are encouraged to apply
