PhD Position in MSCA Doctoral Network HINA on Hybrid Integration of Alkaline Niobate-Tantalate Films
Join a Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network to research hybrid integration of high-performance thin films for advanced photonics and piezoelectric devices.
Best for:Best for graduate engineers and physicists with a background in materials science, microengineering, or solid-state physics interested in thin films and photonics.
Overview
The University of Franche-Comté, through the FEMTO-ST Institute, is offering a PhD position as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network HINA project. The successful candidate will focus on the hybrid integration of alkaline niobate-tantalate thin films ((K,Na)(Nb,Ta)O3 or KNTN) for advanced semiconductor photonics and acoustic platforms. The research follows a multidisciplinary bottom-up approach linking molecule synthesis, materials fabrication, characterization, and device modeling. The doctoral candidate will participate in a collaborative European consortium bridging academic research groups and industrial partners.
What you'll do
- Conduct doctoral research on the hybrid integration of alkaline niobate-tantalate thin films for photonic and acoustic devices.
- Apply a multidisciplinary approach encompassing materials synthesis, fabrication, characterization, and device modeling.
- Collaborate with academic and industrial partners within the HINA consortium across Europe.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present results at international conferences.
- Participate in network-wide training events, workshops, and secondments at partner institutions.
