Master's in Refrigeration and Cryogenics Engineering
Specialized master’s programme in advanced refrigeration and cryogenic technologies for industrial applications.
Best for:Best for engineering graduates seeking specialized expertise in refrigeration and cryogenic systems, with an interest in industrial applications and potential PhD research.
Overview
This master’s programme at Wrocław University of Science and Technology focuses on refrigeration and cryogenics, preparing graduates to design, implement, and operate systems that cool to temperatures as low as fractions of Kelvin. Students explore modern design methods, mechatronics, and advanced materials while gaining hands-on experience in cryogenic systems, refrigeration technologies, and low-temperature physics. The curriculum blends technical coursework with interdisciplinary electives, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for careers in energy-efficient cooling solutions and cryogenic industries. The programme also fosters research readiness, making it an ideal stepping stone for doctoral studies.
What you'll do
- Design and analyze refrigeration and cryogenic systems capable of reaching temperatures below 120 K.
- Apply modern design methods and computational tools to optimize cooling systems for industrial applications.
- Conduct research on cryogenic materials, refrigerants, and advanced cooling technologies.
- Develop and implement experimental setups for testing refrigeration and cryogenic systems.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects integrating mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
- Prepare and present research findings in seminars and thesis defenses.
- Engage in hands-on laboratory work to validate theoretical models and design solutions.
