PhD Position in Human Endogenous Retroviruses and Innate Immunity in Lung Cancer
Investigate viral mimicry and innate immunity driven by human endogenous retroviruses in lung cancer.
Best for:Best for graduate researchers with a background in molecular biology, cancer research, or immunology interested in retroviruses and tumor immunology.
Overview
A three-year PhD position is available at the Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging of Nice (IRCAN), operating within the University Hospital Institute RespirERA and supported by the France 2030 programme. The research project focuses on exploring human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs), viral mimicry, and innate immune responses in the context of lung cancer. The successful candidate will conduct experimental and translational work under the supervision of the Baharia Mograbi team. Applicants are expected to engage deeply with molecular oncology and immunology research, generate high-quality data, and contribute to scientific publications.
What you'll do
- Design and execute experimental protocols investigating human endogenous retroviruses and viral mimicry in lung cancer models.
- Analyze and interpret molecular and cellular biology data to understand innate immune activation mechanisms.
- Collaborate with team members and clinical partners within the RespirERA network.
- Prepare research findings for presentation at scientific conferences and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Maintain rigorous laboratory documentation and adhere to safety and ethical guidelines.
