Overview

This PhD studentship at the University of Warwick's School of Engineering investigates high-efficiency power electronics to support AI workloads and net-zero power grids. Working alongside expert faculty, the researcher will design medium-voltage solid-state transformer cells, combining multi-physics finite-element modelling with experimental hardware prototyping. The project aims to mitigate thermal-electrical degradation and improve power density in renewable energy infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead laboratory experiments and computational simulations over a 3.5-year period.
