PhD Research Assistant in Neutral Atoms Quantum Applications
Join a cutting-edge quantum computing project at the Center for Theoretical Physics PAS to develop methods for quantum simulation and control of neutral atoms.
Best for:Best for physics graduates with a strong background in quantum mechanics, computational modeling, and experimental research, seeking to contribute to quantum technologies and simulation.
Overview
This PhD position offers the opportunity to work as a research assistant in the newly established Neutral Atoms Applications Group at the Center for Quantum-Enabled Computing (C4QEC) in Warsaw, Poland. The role focuses on advancing quantum simulation, information processing, and sensing using neutral atoms in optical tweezers and Rydberg arrays. Successful candidates will contribute to modeling quantum systems, designing robust control protocols, and exploring hybrid quantum platforms. The position is part of a broader initiative to create a scalable, energy-efficient quantum computing framework. The Center for Theoretical Physics PAS, a leading research institute, provides a collaborative and supportive environment for high-impact research.
What you'll do
- Develop theoretical and computational methods for modeling and controlling programmable quantum systems, particularly neutral atoms in optical tweezers and Rydberg arrays.
- Investigate quantum state preparation, many-body dynamics, and robust control under experimental constraints.
- Design protocols for quantum simulation, information processing, sensing, and networking, accounting for decoherence and imperfect control.
- Collaborate closely with experimental teams to align theoretical models with real-world quantum system developments.
- Characterize and validate the performance of quantum protocols, including hybrid quantum platforms.
- Contribute to the publication of research findings in high-impact journals and conferences.
- Participate in scientific seminars, workshops, and conferences organized by the Center for Theoretical Physics PAS.
