International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University invites applications for full-time faculty positions on the Practice Track in Information Systems across all ranks. The appointees will leverage their substantial industry expertise to deliver practice-informed teaching, foster external partnerships, and create professional opportunities for students. Candidates do not need a PhD but should possess extensive professional background in areas such as digital transformation, AI, cybersecurity, and data analytics. This role emphasizes practical impact, knowledge transfer, and strong links with business and government communities.
What you'll do
- Design and deliver practice-informed teaching modules utilising case studies, live projects, and experiential learning approaches.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with businesses, government agencies, and professional associations.
- Create student opportunities including internships, work placements, mentoring programmes, and industry-based projects.
- Develop executive education programmes, consulting initiatives, and commercialisable practical tools or solutions.
- Contribute to practice-based knowledge development through policy reports, professional publications, or media engagement.
Requirements
Language: English; exceptional level of proficiency required as all teaching and activities are conducted in English
Instruction: English
- At least seven years of relevant industry or management experience in information systems or related sectors
- Proven ability to translate professional expertise into high-quality teaching and experiential learning
- Demonstrated track record of professional achievement and practical impact
- Strong professional network across industry or government sectors
- Professional and/or international experience relevant to the discipline
