MRC Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Spatial Lineage Tracing and Single-Cell Multiomics
Lead cutting‑edge spatial single‑cell genomics research to map cell lineages in intact tissues.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with strong expertise in genomics (experimental or computational) and a passion for spatial multi‑omics.
Overview
The Medical Research Council Laboratory of Medical Sciences in London hosts the newly formed Tissue Biology Group, which focuses on spatial single‑cell genomics. This three‑year fixed‑term postdoctoral position will lead the development of DNA‑methylation barcodes and semi‑permeable capsule chemistry to reconstruct cell lineages in situ. The successful researcher will generate and analyse multi‑omic datasets, integrate spatial information, and drive the project from bench to computational pipelines. Applicants must be able to work both experimentally and computationally and will be expected to produce high‑quality data and publications.
What you'll do
- Lead the development of DNA‑methylation barcodes for lineage reconstruction in intact tissue.
- Adapt and optimise semi‑permeable capsule chemistry for spatially resolved multi‑omic sequencing.
- Generate primary datasets by performing bench‑level molecular biology experiments.
- Analyse single‑cell sequencing data and integrate spatial information using computational pipelines.
- Document methods, results and prepare manuscripts for publication.
- Collaborate with the Tissue Biology Group and external partners at Imperial College.
