Overview

The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex is seeking a Senior Research Officer to join the interdisciplinary PaiNeuro project. This role focuses on developing and evaluating machine learning methods to distinguish pain-related states from pain-free states in clinical EEG recordings. Working under the direction of Dr. Sebastian Halder, the successful candidate will collaborate with clinical partners at Vestre Viken Hospital Trust in Norway. The position involves creating reproducible workflows, implementing deep learning architectures, and investigating cross-participant generalization. Applicants should have a strong background in computational analysis and biosignal processing.
