What you'll do
- Design and deliver graduate-level courses in policy studies, China and regional development, and related subjects such as globalization, governance, and media communication.
- Supervise and mentor graduate students in research projects and dissertations, ensuring academic excellence and practical relevance.
- Develop and refine academic programmes aligned with the School of Graduate Studies’ strategic goals and university priorities.
- Contribute to curriculum design, student learning support, and academic development activities to enhance teaching quality.
- Engage with policy actors, social sectors, and commercial industries to bridge academic research with real-world applications.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned, including collaboration with the Dean or Associate Dean of the School.
- Promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration through participation in university initiatives like the Lingnan University Institute for Advanced Study (LUIAS).
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in a related discipline for Associate Professor of Teaching; relevant postgraduate qualifications for Assistant Professor of Teaching and Senior Lecturer
Language: Putonghua (Mandarin); fluency required
Instruction: English
Publications: Evidence of contributions to the scholarship of teaching (e.g., teaching-related grants, publications, conference presentations) viewed positively
- Proven teaching experience in policy studies, China and regional development, or related fields
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Fluency in Putonghua (Mandarin)
- Experience in academic programme development and/or management
- Substantial experience in programme coordination and teaching at the postgraduate level
- Experience in conducting academic research (preferred for Assistant Professor of Teaching and Senior Lecturer)
- PhD degree in a related discipline for Associate Professor of Teaching
- At least five years of relevant teaching experience for Associate Professor of Teaching
- Substantial relevant work experience in programme coordination and teaching for Assistant Professor of Teaching and Senior Lecturer
- Normally not less than 8 years of teaching and course development experience for Senior Lecturer (preferably at postgraduate level)
