Overview

This PhD position at Delft University of Technology focuses on the experimental analysis of boiling instabilities in advanced nuclear steam generators. The project aims to understand the complex flow oscillations that occur in helical tubes, which can lead to thermal fatigue and mechanical failure. The successful candidate will design and build a laboratory-scale steam generator setup and validate findings against numerical models. You will work within the Process & Energy department, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and industry stakeholders. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and operational limits of future nuclear reactor technologies.
