Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Quantum Physics and Chemistry
Develop novel computational methodologies for correlated electronic structure problems at King's College London.
Best for:Best for computational physicists and chemists with a strong background in quantum many-body theory and electronic structure methods.
Overview
King's College London invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Theory and Simulation of Condensed Matter group within the Department of Physics. Working under the supervision of Professor George Booth, the successful candidate will conduct research at the interface of quantum chemistry, condensed matter physics, and quantum information theory. The project focuses on creating scalable computational methods for correlated electronic structure theory as part of a wider EPSRC-NSF funded international collaboration. The appointee will engage in collaborative research, software development, and the mentorship of junior team members.
What you'll do
- Contribute to internationally leading research in many-electron theory and correlated electronic structure problems.
- Develop and maintain computer software for scalable computational methods.
- Collaborate actively with international research groups in the UK and the United States as part of an EPSRC-NSF funded project.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to more junior members of the research group.
- Contribute to an effective research culture and disseminate project outputs through publications and presentations.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Theoretical/Computational Physics, Theoretical/Computational Chemistry, or a closely related relevant area, or awaiting its award.
