Overview
The Rutgers Cancer Institute is seeking two Postdoctoral Associates to join the Department of Cancer Pharmacology. The successful candidates will engage in translational research focusing on tumor microenvironment signaling, perineural invasion, and mechanisms of therapeutic resistance in prostate cancer. Responsibilities include designing and executing complex experiments, such as drug target evaluation and in vivo xenograft studies, to develop novel therapeutic strategies. Researchers will also be expected to analyze data, draft high-quality manuscripts, and mentor junior lab members.
What you'll do
- Conduct advanced research in pharmaceutical sciences and translational cancer biology.
- Design and execute complex experimental studies including drug target evaluation and molecular pharmacology assays.
- Utilize cell culture and in vivo xenograft models to evaluate targeted therapeutic strategies.
- Synthesize and analyze experimental data for peer-reviewed publication.
- Present research findings at internal seminars and scientific conferences.
- Mentor junior researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate trainees in laboratory techniques.
- Assist in driving project deliverables to meet research milestones and grant objectives.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Biology or a relevant science, or an MD.
Language: English; proficiency required.
Instruction: English
- Proficiency in cell culture models and in vivo xenograft techniques.
- Experience in molecular pharmacology and drug target evaluation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must hold a PhD or MD, or be in the final stages of completing one prior to the start date.
