Overview
Lingnan University invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor position within the Institute of Insurance and Risk Management. The successful candidate will drive high-impact scholarly research, pursue external competitive grants, teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and contribute to institutional and industry service. This two-year fixed-term appointment aims to strengthen the Institute's position as a regional center of excellence. Applicants are expected to possess a recent PhD in a relevant discipline and a strong commitment to academic publishing and grant acquisition.
What you'll do
- Conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research in insurance and risk management
- Prepare and submit applications for competitive external research grants, including RGC grants
- Publish research findings in high-impact, top-tier academic journals
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in relevant disciplines
- Organize and participate in industry-oriented forums, conferences, and symposiums
- Contribute to departmental and university service activities
- Supervise and mentor students as assigned
Requirements
Degree required: PhD degree or equivalent qualification in Risk and Insurance or a related discipline obtained within the past five years
Language: English proficiency for teaching and research
Instruction: English
Publications: A sound track record of publications in top-tier journals

- Ability to secure competitive external research funding
- Track record of scholarly output and publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Capability to deliver effective undergraduate and postgraduate instruction
- Must have been awarded a PhD or equivalent qualification for no more than five years prior to appointment commencement
