Master's 2 Internship: Developing a Portable Tool for Measuring Environmental Endoglycanase Activities
Develop an innovative, portable, high-throughput tool for measuring glycanase activity in soil samples.
Best for:Master's students in biology, biochemistry, or microbiology with a strong interest in environmental science and soil health.
Overview
The Biochem-Env platform at INRAE is offering a 6-month Master's 2 internship focused on developing a portable, in-gel tool for measuring endoglycanase activity in environmental samples. This project aims to create a user-friendly and cost-effective method to assess microbial activity and soil health, addressing key challenges in the carbon cycle. The successful candidate will work within the UMR1402 ECOSYS unit, gaining hands-on experience in biochemical assays and environmental research. The role involves both the development of the new tool and validation against established colorimetric methodologies.
What you'll do
- Develop a portable, in-gel, high-throughput tool for measuring glycanase activity.
- Perform soil sample preparation and enzymatic assays in solution and in-gel.
- Validate new methodologies against established colorimetric assays.
- Contribute to scientific writing and documentation of research findings.
- Communicate research progress and results to the team and collaborators.
