Post Doctoral Research Associate in Developmental Psychology and Genetics
Investigate the combined impact of neurodevelopmental and disruptive behaviour disorders on education using large-scale cohort data.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with strong quantitative genetics, structural equation modelling, and R programming experience focused on developmental cohort data.
Overview
Queen Mary University of London seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join Dr Margherita Malanchini’s Cognition, Development and Education Lab within the Department of Biological and Experimental Psychology. The successful candidate will work on an interdisciplinary research project investigating how neurodevelopmental and disruptive behaviour disorders interact to affect educational outcomes, considering both genetic and environmental risk factors. Responsibilities include analyzing large developmental cohort datasets, applying advanced statistical methods such as structural equation modelling, and collaborating with international partners including University College London and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Applicants are expected to have a relevant PhD and a strong background in data analysis, developmental psychopathology, or quantitative genetics.
What you'll do
- Analyze complex phenotypic and genetic data from large developmental cohort studies.
- Apply structural equation modelling and other advanced quantitative methods to investigate developmental and educational outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator, lab members, and external co-investigators at partner institutions.
- Draft manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present findings at academic conferences.
- Maintain transparent and reproducible data and code repositories using platforms such as GitHub.
