PhD Candidate in Risk-Based Design of Protection Structures
Join a pioneering project to enhance the safety of infrastructure against natural hazards.
Best for:Best for candidates with a master's in engineering and a passion for probabilistic methods in structural safety.
Overview
The position involves developing a probabilistic design framework for protection structures to address the risks posed by natural hazards such as rockfalls and snow avalanches. The candidate will work within the Department of Structural Engineering at NTNU, collaborating with leading experts in structural reliability and risk-informed decision-making. This research aims to create a consistent safety level across various hazards and structures, ultimately contributing to improved infrastructure resilience. The role requires a strong analytical background and a commitment to high-quality research.
