PhD Position in Cancer Biology: Targeting UBE2N and Antitumor Immunity in Ovarian Cancer
Explore innovative cancer therapies by investigating UBE2N’s role in ovarian cancer and its interaction with antitumor immunity.
Best for:Best for motivated PhD candidates with a strong background in cancer biology, molecular biology, or related fields, seeking to contribute to translational cancer research with a focus on immunotherapy and precision medicine.
Overview
This PhD position at the François Baclesse Comprehensive Cancer Center in Caen, France, offers a multidisciplinary research opportunity to investigate the therapeutic potential of targeting UBE2N—a promising target identified by the host team—in ovarian cancer. The project integrates cancer biology, molecular biology, pharmacology, immuno-oncology, and patient-derived tumor organoid (PDTO) models to study treatment responses and develop novel therapeutic strategies. The successful candidate will work within a translational research environment, leveraging expertise in DNA repair, pharmacology, precision oncology, and tumor immunology. The position is fully funded for a 36-month contract, with an expected start in January–February 2027.
What you'll do
- Conduct experimental research to investigate the therapeutic potential of targeting UBE2N in ovarian cancer models.
- Develop and apply patient-derived tumor organoid (PDTO) models to study treatment responses and identify new therapeutic strategies.
- Collaborate across disciplines, including cancer biology, molecular biology, pharmacology, and immuno-oncology.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to contribute to the understanding of antitumor immunity mechanisms.
- Present research findings at conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team with access to advanced core facilities, including ORGAPRED tumor organoid core.
