Overview
Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is seeking two faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level to join its College of Public Policy. The successful candidates will contribute to a research-intensive environment, teaching graduate-level courses and maintaining an active research agenda in public administration, governance, or related fields. Faculty are expected to supervise graduate students, engage in curriculum development, and participate in university service. This role offers an opportunity to shape the future of public policy education in the MENA region within a diverse and collaborative academic community.
What you'll do
- Conduct and publish high-quality research in public policy, governance, or public administration.
- Teach graduate courses and seminars while supporting student academic development.
- Supervise graduate theses and independent research projects.
- Seek and secure external research funding to support scholarly activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development, program enhancement, and international accreditation processes.
- Serve on university and college committees to support institutional governance.
- Engage with policy stakeholders at national, regional, and international levels.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD or terminal degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Governance, Policy Evaluation, or a closely related field.
Language: English (proficiency required for teaching and research).
Instruction: English
Publications: A growing or established portfolio of scholarly work comparable to peers at leading research universities.
- Proven expertise in public policy, governance, or public administration.
- Relevant full-time university teaching experience.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity and research excellence.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and cultures.
- Experience in student supervision and academic advising.
- Must hold a PhD or terminal degree from an accredited university.
- Must demonstrate scholarly achievements commensurate with the rank sought.
