PhD Project on Neural and Behavioral Mechanisms in Human Visual Development
Explore how neural and behavioral changes shape the developing visual system in humans under the supervision of Prof. Brigitte Röder.
Best for:Best for early-career researchers with a strong background in psychological sciences, cognitive neuroscience, or related fields, interested in exploring neuroplasticity and developmental visual processes.
Overview
This PhD project at the University of Hamburg focuses on investigating the mechanisms of neural and behavioral changes in the human visual system during development. The research will be conducted within the Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology department, aiming to deepen understanding of neuroplasticity, visual attention, and spatial processing. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge studies on multisensory functions and locomotion, leveraging advanced methodologies in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience. The project offers a unique opportunity for early-career researchers to engage in interdisciplinary work with a strong emphasis on empirical investigation and theoretical advancement.
What you'll do
- Conduct empirical research to investigate neural and behavioral changes in the developing human visual system.
- Design and implement experimental protocols to study neuroplasticity, visual attention, and spatial processing.
- Analyze and interpret data using advanced cognitive and behavioral neuroscience methodologies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams to integrate findings across sensory and motor domains.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Contribute to the development of theoretical models explaining visual system development and plasticity.
