PhD position in cryo-EM: Structural and Mechanistic Basis of TIP60 Complex Function
Join a leading structural biology team to investigate the TIP60 chromatin remodeling complex using cryo-EM and drug discovery techniques.
Best for:Best for candidates with a strong background in biochemistry or structural biology interested in cryo-EM and chromatin regulation.
Overview
The Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGBMC) is offering a PhD position within the Integrated Structural Biology department. The project focuses on the TIP60/EP400 complex, a critical chromatin remodeler involved in gene transcription and genome integrity. The successful candidate will utilize high-resolution cryo-electron microscopy, biochemical assays, and computational drug design to explore the molecular mechanisms of this complex. This role is ideal for a motivated researcher interested in the intersection of structural biology, cell biology, and therapeutic development.
What you'll do
- Conduct single-particle cryo-electron microscopy experiments to determine protein structures.
- Perform biochemical characterization of the TIP60/EP400 complex and its substrates.
- Execute cellular functional assays to validate structural findings.
- Apply structure-based virtual screening and AI-driven protein design for therapeutic modulators.
- Collaborate with an international team to integrate structural and functional data.
- Present research findings at internal meetings and scientific conferences.
Requirements
