Overview

This PhD project at the Institut des Géosciences de l’Environnement (IGE) aims to characterize the spatio-temporal structure of atmospheric precipitation. By utilizing a novel sensor capable of measuring hydrometeor size, shape, and velocity across a 100 L volume, the research will bridge experimental observations with theoretical modeling. The candidate will employ statistical, stochastic, and physical approaches to address long-standing scientific debates regarding precipitation organization. The work is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of atmospheric processes and their impact on hydro-meteorological resources.
