Overview

This PhD position at Uppsala University’s Division of Solid State Physics focuses on advancing the fundamental understanding of photophysical properties and defect mechanisms in 2D quantum materials like transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge spectroscopic investigations, including Raman, photoluminescence, transient absorption, and X-ray-based techniques, to study exciton dynamics and defect passivation. The project bridges experimental and computational approaches, aiming to provide novel insights into materials critical for optoelectronics. The role involves independent research, collaboration with a dynamic research group, and participation in international conferences. Applicants should demonstrate strong analytical skills, proficiency in English, and a passion for materials science and spectroscopy.
