Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University invites applications for faculty positions at the Associate Professor, Senior Associate Professor, or Full Professor level within the School of Intelligent Finance and Business at the Taicang campus. The appointees will drive innovative teaching, conduct impactful industry-enhanced research, and contribute to the institution's unique Syntegrative Education model. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students, securing research grants, and building robust partnerships with industry leaders. Successful candidates will help shape future leaders by combining disciplinary expertise with practical entrepreneurial skills.
What you'll do
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate modules in finance and digital finance.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and mentor early-career academics.
- Conduct high-quality, industry-enhanced research and manage consultancy contracts with measurable societal and economic impact.
- Secure and maintain successful research grants, producing publications in leading academic journals.
- Forge and maintain strategic research partnerships with industry partners, academic institutions, and external organizations.
- Contribute administrative service and institutional development to the School, College, and University.
- Support innovative cross-disciplinary initiatives aligned with the Entrepreneur College Taicang research themes.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Digital Finance, Fintech, AI in Finance, or a closely related discipline
Language: English; ability to work, teach, and research in English
Instruction: English
Publications: Sustained record of publications in leading journals commensurate with the academic level
- Demonstrated ability to teach finance modules including digital finance, cryptocurrencies, and financial regulation at multiple levels
- Proficiency in applying digital technologies and emerging digital tools to support learning and research
- Clear understanding of the Syntegrative Education philosophy and model
- Proven track record of relevant research and publication output corresponding to the applied faculty level
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Candidates over 65 years of age may not be eligible for a work visa in the P.R. China.
- Non-Chinese applicants require two years of full-time, same-subject teaching experience in a college or university per Chinese work permit policy.
