Postdoctoral Researcher in Separation Processes for Water Treatment and Resource Recovery
Join a dynamic research team at UM6P to develop and optimize sustainable separation technologies for water treatment and resource recovery.
Best for:Best for chemical or process engineers with expertise in membrane technologies and water treatment systems.
Overview
The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to advance sustainable separation processes. The project focuses on the development, optimization, and integration of technologies such as membrane processes, liquid-liquid extraction, and resin-based systems for water treatment and industrial effluent management. The successful candidate will conduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments, evaluate material performance, and contribute to process design and scale-up. This role offers an opportunity to work in a high-quality, innovation-driven environment dedicated to addressing real-world environmental challenges in Africa and beyond.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimize separation processes for water and industrial effluent treatment.
- Investigate technologies including membrane processes, liquid-liquid extraction, and ion-exchange resins.
- Select and evaluate appropriate materials, membranes, and solvents for targeted impurities.
- Plan and execute experiments at both laboratory and pilot scales.
- Optimize operating parameters to enhance process selectivity and efficiency.
- Characterize feed solutions and post-separation streams.
- Assess the performance, stability, and reusability of separation materials.
- Propose and design hybrid configurations for multi-stage separation.
- Contribute to process design, equipment sizing, and scale-up activities.
- Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and conference presentations.
- Assist in student supervision and team research activities.
