Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Spatial Immunometabolism
Join the Clarke research group at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology to investigate B cell metabolism and germinal centre reactions in immunology.
Best for:Best for postdoctoral researchers with a PhD in Immunology, experience in cellular metabolism studies, and a track record of peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals.
Overview
This postdoctoral position at the University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) focuses on spatial immunometabolism, particularly the germinal centre reaction in B cell metabolism. The role involves conducting cutting-edge research, mentoring junior researchers, and developing experimental techniques under ERC funding. The Clarke group at the Kennedy Institute combines discovery science and clinical research to advance therapies for chronic inflammatory and musculoskeletal diseases. Ideal candidates will have a PhD in Immunology or a related field, expertise in immunology techniques, and a strong publication record in high-impact journals.
What you'll do
- Conduct independent research on spatial immunometabolism, focusing on B cell metabolism and germinal centre reactions.
- Develop and adapt experimental protocols and scientific techniques for immunology research.
- Analyze and interpret scientific data from diverse sources, refining hypotheses as needed.
- Mentor junior researchers, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD students.
- Contribute ideas for new research projects and proposals to generate research funding.
- Present detailed research proposals to senior researchers and collaborate on grant applications.
- Provide guidance on experimental design and data analysis to the research group.
