Overview

The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) is offering a PhD position within the C3 project, which aims to tackle the decarbonization of the cement industry. The research focuses on understanding and manipulating the nucleation and growth of calcium carbonates at the atomic scale under complex alkaline conditions. By utilizing atomistic simulation techniques, the successful candidate will investigate how minor ions influence carbonate polymorphism and kinetics to optimize CO2 sequestration and mechanical performance. This role is ideal for a researcher interested in computational materials science and sustainable construction materials.
