Overview

The Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence offers a pre-doctoral research position focused on the neural mechanisms of avian biosonar behavior. The project investigates sensory processing in freely flying birds and examines whether facial feathers act as high-frequency sound sensors during echolocation. The successful candidate will combine behavioral monitoring, wireless technology, and neurophysiology within an international team. The position is based in Seewiesen, Germany, with extended periods of field research in Colombia.
