PhD Studentship on Ketogenic Diets and Type 1 Diabetes
Investigate how a low-carbohydrate ketogenic diet affects exercise fuel use and glucose management in physically active individuals with Type 1 Diabetes.
Best for:Best for aspiring researchers in exercise physiology, nutrition, or metabolic health with a strong interest in clinical application for Type 1 Diabetes.
Overview
The University of Exeter invites applications for a four-year MRC-funded PhD studentship through the GW4 BioMed3 Doctoral Landscape Programme. The successful candidate will examine the physiological impacts of a ketogenic diet on substrate utilization and blood glucose regulation during exercise among physically active people living with Type 1 Diabetes. This pioneering project aims to generate evidence for safer, personalized dietary guidelines. The student will receive comprehensive research training and support as part of a collaborative multi-institutional landscape award.
