Overview

This Research Fellow position at the University of Southampton’s Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) focuses on developing innovative epitaxial growth technologies for III-V semiconductor materials on silicon and lattice-mismatched substrates. The successful candidate will conduct Metalorganic Vapour Phase Epitaxy (MOVPE) growth, characterise materials and devices, and contribute to device fabrication and integration in Southampton’s advanced silicon photonics and nanofabrication facilities. The role involves collaboration with external epitaxy partners during the initial phase of infrastructure establishment at Southampton, requiring travel and cross-institutional teamwork. The position is ideal for researchers with hands-on experience in semiconductor epitaxy and a passion for next-generation photonic technologies.
