PhD student in Interferometry-based field-resolved spectroscopy
Join a prestigious Max-Planck-Fraunhofer cooperation project to develop advanced photonic measurement techniques for clinical and industrial applications.
Best for:Best for candidates with a Master's degree in experimental physics or photonics and hands-on experience with optical laser setups.
Overview
The Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) is seeking a PhD student to join the Optical Quantum Metrology research group. This position is part of a collaborative project between the Max Planck Society and Fraunhofer, focusing on the development of novel photonic measurement techniques using interferometry and nonlinear optics. The successful candidate will work on femtosecond technologies to enable precise spectroscopic measurements of molecules in biological fluids and gases. The role offers the opportunity to conduct research at the intersection of fundamental quantum optics and practical applications in medicine and industry. Supervision will be provided in collaboration with the RPTU in Kaiserslautern.
