Overview

This PhD position at the Max Delbrück Center (MDC) in Heidelberg focuses on investigating how inflammatory and metabolic signals alter cardiomyocyte function and epigenetic states. As part of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1550, the project leverages human stem cells and bioengineered 3D microenvironments to develop innovative disease models. The successful candidate will apply cutting-edge techniques in molecular biology, CRISPR/Cas-based engineering, high-content imaging, and transcriptomic/epigenomic profiling to uncover molecular circuits underlying heart disease. The position offers interdisciplinary collaboration with cardiologists, bioengineers, and computational biologists, providing structured training and opportunities for international conference presentations.
