Postdoctoral Associate
Postdoctoral researcher to investigate metabolic vulnerabilities in KRAS‑mutant lung cancer.
Best for:Early‑career scientists with a PhD/MD who have strong metabolomics or flow‑cytometry experience and want to study lung cancer metabolism.
Overview
Rutgers Cancer Institute is hiring a postdoctoral associate in the Guo Laboratory of Medical Oncology. The fellow will lead experiments to uncover metabolic weaknesses in KRAS‑driven lung tumors using both in‑vivo and in‑vitro screening platforms. Work includes target validation, mechanistic studies, and evaluation of how these vulnerabilities affect standard therapies. The associate will also prepare manuscripts, grant proposals, and present findings at scientific meetings while mentoring junior lab members. Successful candidates will contribute to a collaborative environment focused on translating cancer biology into therapeutic strategies.
What you'll do
- Design and execute in‑vivo and in‑vitro screens to identify metabolic vulnerabilities in KRAS‑mutant lung cancer.
- Validate candidate metabolic targets in mouse models and elucidate underlying mechanisms.
- Assess the impact of identified targets on the efficacy of standard lung‑cancer therapies.
- Prepare detailed experimental reports, figures, and data for manuscripts and grant applications.
- Present research findings at internal lab meetings and external scientific conferences.
- Mentor and train graduate students, fellows, and technicians in laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Assist with the preparation and renewal of eIACUC and IBC protocols.
