VinUniversity is seeking a research-active Associate Professor or Full Professor in Computational Communication and Digital Methods within the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will drive high-impact research, deliver undergraduate instruction in communication data and digital tools, mentor students, and provide methodological leadership in curriculum development. The appointment plays a pivotal role in expanding the university's research ecosystem and advancing interdisciplinary approaches to media and society. What you'll do
- Conduct high-impact research using computational, quantitative, and data-intensive approaches to communication and media.
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction in computational communication, digital research methods, and communication data.
- Develop and implement hands-on, student-centered learning approaches such as project-based and action-based learning.
- Mentor undergraduate students in academic growth, research projects, and professional development.
- Provide intellectual and methodological leadership in strengthening digital methods and computational capability within the multimedia communication program.
- Publish research in leading international peer-reviewed journals and present findings at major conferences.
- Pursue competitive external funding and foster interdisciplinary collaborations across communication, data science, and social sciences.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Communication, Communication Science, Media Studies, Computational Social Science, Information Science, or a closely related field
Language: English proficiency required
Instruction: English
Publications: A strong international record of impactful research and publication appropriate to appointment at Associate Professor or Full Professor level
- Demonstrated expertise in computational communication, computational social science, or digital methods
- Ability to use and teach contemporary computational research methods using programming environments such as R or Python
- Strong understanding of research ethics, data quality, and algorithmic bias
- Proven track record of effective university teaching and curriculum development
- Strong international record of impactful research and publication appropriate for senior faculty appointment
