Overview
VinUniversity invites applications for a full-time, research-focused faculty position in Mechanical Engineering within the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with the Environmental Intelligence Research Cluster on pioneering topics such as green hydrogen, energy storage, smart manufacturing, and battery recycling. Responsibilities span high-impact research, curriculum delivery and teaching, as well as institutional and academic service. Candidates are expected to contribute significantly to VinUni’s Vision 2030 through translational research, external funding acquisition, and student mentorship.
What you'll do
- Lead high-impact, translational research leading to publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals.
- Secure competitive external research funding and establish an independent research program.
- Develop, plan, and deliver accredited curricula for undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Supervise student research projects, assess academic performance, and mentor junior faculty members.
- Contribute to departmental and university service through committee work, program development, and recruitment initiatives.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD or equivalent terminal/professional degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Nanotechnology
Language: English proficiency for teaching and research delivery
Instruction: English
Publications: Sustained record of publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals appropriate to the candidate's academic rank
- Demonstrated track record of scholarly research and publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals
- Proven teaching ability focused on student-centered, active, and authentic learning
- Commitment to securing external research funding and building international collaborations
- Experience or potential for independent research leadership appropriate to the applied faculty rank
- Hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree from a recognized university
