Advanced Manufacturing – Mechanical Engineering and Production
A two‑year English‑taught MSc focusing on cutting‑edge manufacturing technologies and interdisciplinary research.
Best for:Best for engineering graduates seeking interdisciplinary expertise in advanced manufacturing, smart production, and industry‑linked projects.
Overview
The Advanced Manufacturing MSc is offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology. It provides a research‑driven, interdisciplinary curriculum that covers seven profile areas such as lightweight technologies, smart manufacturing, and computational manufacturing engineering. Students attend core courses, choose a profile, complete an industry‑linked Applied Engineering Project, and finish with a master’s thesis. The programme emphasizes both technical expertise and soft‑skill development, including intercultural competence and communication. Graduates are prepared to contribute to modern, sustainable production systems in academia or industry.
What you'll do
- Attend and successfully complete core and profile-specific coursework.
- Participate in integrated internships and the Applied Engineering Project with industry partners.
- Develop a research project and write a master’s thesis in the second year.
- Collaborate with peers and faculty across the seven profile areas.
- Improve soft skills such as communication, intercultural competence, and responsible decision‑making.
