Postdoctoral Position in Autoimmune Disease & Epigenetics
Investigate environmental signals and epigenetic programs shaping pathogenic T-cell responses in autoimmune disease.
Best for:Best for immunologists and molecular biologists with a strong background in functional genomics and epigenetics.
Overview
The Choi Laboratory at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study how environmental and epigenetic programs influence pathogenic T-cell responses in autoimmune conditions like systemic lupus erythematosus. The successful candidate will employ functional immunology, genomics, and epigenomics to identify disease mechanisms and help translate discoveries into novel therapies. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the researcher will collaborate with experimental, computational, and clinical teams on foundational and translational projects. Candidates should hold a relevant doctoral degree and have a strong background in immunology or molecular biology.
What you'll do
- Investigate the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms regulating pathogenic T-cell responses in autoimmune diseases.
- Combine functional immunology with genomic and epigenomic approaches to uncover disease drivers.
- Collaborate with experimental, computational, and clinical researchers to identify therapeutic pathways.
- Translate mechanistic discoveries into immune-modulating strategies for pre-clinical and clinical evaluation.
- Contribute to scientific publications and present research findings at internal and external scientific meetings.
Requirements
Degree required: PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related scientific discipline
